Henry County VINELink Release Coverage
Virginia's VINE system has separate custody tracks. Virginia Jail VINE covers people held in participating local and regional jails, including the path used for Henry County Adult Detention Center events. Anyone may register for jail alerts. VADOC victim-notification enrollment is limited to eligible crime victims through Victim Services. That access difference is another reason not to describe the systems as one list.

A released result is valuable for timely corroboration. It is weaker than the jail's contemporaneous release or movement entry when the destination matters. A court dismissal or bond order may explain legal authority, while the jail record supplies the physical movement. For state custody, the signed Order of Release and notification-of-release letter are stronger proof than an anticipated alert.
Register Henry County Release Alerts
Notification registration attaches to the selected person and event stream. The screen may offer telephone, text, email, or app delivery. Complete the confirmation required by each method. A contact entry that was never verified may not receive the expected alert.

Unanswered calls may lead to a message and retries until the alert is acknowledged or the stated retry period ends. Calls may come from a 502 area code. Keep the PIN private, and never include it in a screenshot. Alerts can cover release, transfer, escape and recapture, death, and some other custody events depending on the jail setup.
Notification is not a safety service or a promise of exact timing. If immediate danger exists, call 911. For custody facts, contact the reporting jail or corrections agency. VINE updates can stop after release, so obtain the underlying record when a lasting, exact account is needed.
Note: Register every delivery method separately and keep the offender number with the alert so the agency can trace the right event.
Henry County Release Alert Boundaries
Virginia requires separate registration for Jail VINE, VADOC notification, and registry tracking. This is the distinctive local workflow that matters most when a Henry County detainee receives state-responsible time. The jail can send a release or transfer event as county custody ends, while VADOC becomes the next authority. The first alert may therefore mark a handoff, not freedom.
If further confinement was expected, call the Henry County Adult Detention Center and ask whether the movement went to VADOC or another jail. Then search the VADOC locator by DOC ID or exact name. A new institution entry supports continued custody. A community district entry supports release from secure confinement under supervision. That distinction prevents a projected date from being repeated as a completed release. It also shows why the registration must follow the person into the correct system.
Confirm Henry County VINELink Releases
VINELink does not cover federal prisoners through BOP and does not replace ICE's locator. It is also not a complete historic archive after release. A no-match result can stem from spelling, a different custody system, an update delay, agency participation, or the end of the public event record. No match is a search outcome, never a release status.
For a Henry County jail event, give greatest weight to the ADC release or movement entry and direct custodian confirmation. Ask for the actual event date and time, release authority, and destination. If staff cannot disclose the detail by phone, request the existing booking and movement record. Match it to the signed court order when the legal basis matters.
For a state-prison event, use the VADOC locator, notification-of-release letter, signed Order of Release, and actual status transition. A projected date is planning evidence. If VADOC appears next, read the institution or district field closely. Institution placement means custody continued. District placement may show physical release with supervision. If a court order dismissed one charge but the person remains held, another charge, case, locality, warrant, or detainer may control. The custody record and all relevant case numbers are needed before the sequence is complete.
Once the branch is known, retain the notice as corroboration and seek the matching official record. Precise language matters. “Henry ADC recorded a transfer to VADOC” is supported when that movement is verified. “Released” should be reserved for a source that establishes release from the relevant custody, and community release should not be claimed when another authority took custody.
